Selected Gestures is an Expanded Cinema installation that oscillates between its structural elements, technological formats and a hand made process, each forming and informing the outcome of this work. Influenced by the Aurora Borealis and the dances of Loie Fuller, the final image is the collection of gestures created from wrapping bodies in light, which is then edited into an experimental film and expanded passing through various screens. The apparatuses and technology perform as an active metaphor, as if they are actors in a play, obfuscating and translating the experimental film and the image of the body into something that would appear ethereal and transcendental.
